Bowei He is a postdoctoral researcher at MBZUAI and McGill University. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the City University of Hong Kong in 2025, supervised by Prof. Chen Ma. His dissertation studied how recommendation models can adapt their structure, representations, and data utility as users and items change over time.
His research sits at the intersection of large language models, agentic AI, and recommender systems, including streaming recommendation, model merging, and reinforcement learning for decision-making. He interned with the Tencent Hunyuan LLM team as a Qingyun Talent, and earlier with Tencent and DiDi on recommendation and reinforcement learning.
